Bio
A leading senior waste professional with over 21 years experience in all aspects of waste management and across all sectors with 17 years experience in operations and 4 years in consultancy. Uisdean led the development of the first Anaerobic Digestion plant to operate on source segregated municipal bio-waste in the UK from project inception to commissioning. He is highly skilled in the development and implementation of regional and national waste strategy with the ability to identify and exploit opportunities before others.
Skills and expertise
Initially qualified in production engineering Uisdean moved into the public sector where he had a long career at all levels from trainee to laterally Head of Waste in the Western Isles. Following this Uisdean moved to Synergie Scotland to develop a waste/energy efficiency and renewable energy division which has subsequently been spun out as Synergie Environ Ltd.
Over 20 years waste management experience, both managerial and operational across a very broad range of technologies, including fleet management, collection systems, anaerobic digestion, composting, land-filling, waste transfer, waste processing etc. This experience has covered domestic, commercial, industrial and Construction & Demolition waste streams including design management and licensing of facilities
Uisdean also has highly developed business process development and implementation skills including business and marketing planning with experience of the waste, renewable energy, sustainable construction, carbon management, CRC and resource management sectors.
