Previous Experience

Marina has worked in the waste minimisation industry for over 6 years in both the public and private sector and was responsible for devising, implementing and delivering a highly successful waste minimisation and education campaign in the Western Isles in line with national guidelines.

She has considerable experience of public speaking including bi-lingual broadcasting to a varied audience (radio and TV) and have five years project management experience for a wide range of projects and budgets.  She has extensive experience of event management, the most recent being a series of rural road show events for businesses which spanned, Orkney, Shetland, Argyll & Bute, Western Isles and the Highlands

Skills and Expertise

Marina led and delivered a major re-branding exercise for Synergie Scotland Ltd which resulted in their profile being raised significantly.  Whilst she was Waste Aware Campaign Manager in the Western Isles, the campaign won two national awards in its first year of operation and achieved a 60% participation rate in an opt in kerbside collection scheme, which is greater than the norm for non-compulsory schemes.

Marina also has experience of delivering community projects including securing funding for community initiative schemes.  Having also worked in the accountancy sector she has a solid financial base when delivering projects.
